Rant

I am so annoyed with the company that made my invitations Grimes Designs. I will not be using them again. She was great at getting back to me and my invitations are sweet, but it took forever to recieve them. I ordered my them at the end of May, thinking tht would give me plenty of time to get them out for July. However, I did not recieve them until last week. The RSVP on them is Aug.1rst so most people only have a couple of days to reply. Thankfully I sent out save the dates, otherwise I would be SO MAD.  I had sent her a message at the beginning of July poilitely asking if my invitations were shipped and she said yes, however paypal the next day sent me a message saying my invitations had just been shipped. I guess she forgot about them, ugh accidents happen, but they are sooooo annoying.

My cake lady cancelled on me.

Two of my bridesmaids can't make it to the wedding, but a new fabulous one was added!!!

I had my first fitting today :D Holy smokes I love my dress. I can't wait for our wedding so I can dance, laugh, love, cry, kiss, sing, mingle, and hug. All of this stress will be worth it.

Jewels

ooooh I bought some really sweet gifts for some special girls that are helping out at our wedding. I want to show you so badly but, I don't want to chance it though, just in case they come on here in the next couple of the days.

Anyways, the shipping was impeccable, and the jewels are so cute! So excited to give them to my girls.

Hey can you guys please do me a HUGE favour? It takes 20 seconds. Please vote for Ski Cape Smokey for Krafts Celebration Tour. If we win we will recieve $25 000.00, which would be an amazing help for Smokey. Last year was the first year they had hill running in 5 years and it was only half the hill. It has amazing potential!!  Smokey is completely volunteer driven and is the heart of the community. This would be a huge help to us and in the future may even provide jobs for our local people/ keep me from going insane. Thanks Friends!

Claire La Faye

Can someone please please please get married in one of these beauties?? I happily already bought my dress but unfortunately I will never have an occasion to wear one of these romantic little numbers. Aren't they just the epitome of glamour, romance, and elegance? So basically I am thinking I should be planning a ceremony to renew our vows pronto.

AWKWARD DATES part 3
I don't know if anyone has been on a creepier date than this one...
This date happened around 7 or 8 years ago and it is something I will NEVER forget, unfortunately. He is quite a few years older then I, and we never had officially met. I had only seen him once at a party and wasn't attracted to him one single bit. I was hearing he wwas talking about me to friends quite a bit and was quite flattered. One day he called me and asked if I wanted to go on a date. I thought I would give it a shot and if anything I would have a new friend. He comes to the door and the first words that come out of his mouth were crude and I knew this was a bad idea instantly. Instead of the normal, "You look very nice" I got a "FUuuuuUUUUUCK You're SEXY." Who says that? I replied with a shocked "Thank You?" As soon as we get into his truck he asks me if he minds if we stop off at the liquor store first. "Uhm sure." I am thinking we are going to go have a casual picnic or something but nope, he starts downing the six pack he just bought. After chugging 2 beers while driving, he tells me I make him to nervous. So I quicky tell him to go to the first restaurant we see. It's a very busy place, and their will be know intimate conversations too be had. As soon as we sit down he orders shots for himself and proceeds to get wasted. At this point I am absolutely dreading agreiing to go on a date with this guy. He starts saying the filthiest things I have ever heard anyone say in my life, and he is talking so loud. I knew the guys at the next table and was soooo incredibly embarrassed to be out in public with this guy. During dinner I learn he has a DUI and he has a suspension from work as he is a truck driver. I am absolutely disgusted and tell him I am driving him home right now. He then says "awww baby, I knew you could't wait to come home with me" Soooooooooooooo creepy!!! At this point I am no longer polite. I grab his keys and tell him to stop talking and get in the truck and to not say another peep. On the way home he was doing and saying the most obscene things and finally passed out. I pushed him out of the truck when we eventually hit his town and wished him luck finding his way home. The next day I had to drop off the truck, he has the nerve to answer the door in his boxers and invite me in for breakfast. After puking in my mouth I tell him he is a joke and never want to hear from him again. I later heard he was bragging to his friends about our date. Whaaaaat?! Some guys just don't get it!

AWKWARD DATES Part 2
For the record I am not attracted to the beef cakes that Jersey Shore expels...ew! I totally dislike egotistical jerks. This date was before Jersey Shores time. I guess it goes without saying, agreeing to go out on a date while you are a wee tipsy is not the smartest thing you can do. After an amazing night of dancing at Oktoberfest with this cute guy I slipped him my number. He called me the next day and we went out the following night. He was still as cute as I remembered but our conversation at dinner was painful. I am pretty decent at holding a conversation with anyone, but man it was difficult with this guy. I thought it was kind of cute because he just seemed pretty shy and nervous. I didn't realize it until we were on the way home he wasn't being bashful looking down the entire night he was in fact checking himself out. The entire ride home he was flexing the arm that he had on the steering wheel and making the grunting sounds some make while working out. I asked him if he was going to be ok and he replied with a "When you work out as hard as I do you have to flex often to keep the muscles ripping" Uhhhm what? He then went on to ask me if I wanted to make out, I obviously replied with a polite "No Thanks". He then pulls over and proceeds to take off his shirt. I quickly ask what he is doing and he responds with a " I always get the girl when I take off my shirt" HAHA and he was totally for real. I just laughed at him and told him to dream on and drive me home. When we arrived at my house I thanked him for dinner and told him that would be our last date. AWKWARD!!!

Older man

Don't you just love those butterflies waltzing around your tummy when something really exciting is about to happen? I just love to hate them. I am easily excitable so I get these feelings often. Nothing gets them going more then going on a date! First dates especially. Once in awhile you get those butterflies dancing and they are wasted. You get alll excited for nothing. They are wasted on a really bad date. :( All of your expectations crush them. Here is Part 1 of AWKWARD DATES

My first most awkward date ever was when my Grandparents took my brother and I to Celebrations Dinner Theatre. I knew I was going to be called up on stage because every single time I have went the actors always drag me up. Maybe they can sense my dire need of being the center of attention :p. Anyhow, one of the servers kept circling our table. He was dressed as a flamnenco dancer and was telling all of the guests and my grandparents that he was going to marry me. I thought it was all part of the act until he took me back stage and asked me on a date. I thought he was still in character and laughed at him. He brought me on stage and professed his undying love for me in a hilarious song. When we went back stage he told me he was serious about the date I blushed and agreed to go out with this red lipstick, tight pant wearing man.

A couple of days had passed and my flamenco dancer gave me call and we made plans to go to the movie that weekend. He drove the 45 minute drive to come pick me up my parents house and off we were to go to a movie- Pirates Of The Carribbean. Which I had already seen but was to shy to say so. PS I think movies are the worst idea for a first date because how can you get to know eachother staring awkwardly at the big screen, trying not to chew too loud at all of the quiet parts all the while wondering what the other person thinks of you and if their is a connection. POINTLESS. Luckily the next movie wasn't playing for a couple of hours. So we decided to go out for a bite to eat. Perfect! We get to chat more before sitting a couple of hours in silence. But, crap! He chose a pub and I'm only 17. Looking at him I knew he was a couple of years older I just didn't know how much older. We order some drinks and I pray they don't ask me for I.D. After some good conversation I casually mention that I'm leeeeeegally not allowed to be in there. He immediately starts to sweat, I ask  him his age first and he says he is 25 years old and is a highschool teacher. So I tell him my age and he flips "Why would your mother let me take you out, I could be your teacher! You are too young to date" Woops I guess we should have went over that before you picked me up? I proceed to tell him if he is uncomfortable he can take me back home. He declines and says we can continue on as friends. haha ok? So we get over the awkward part and end up sharing lots of laughs, that's until we go to the movie. I was wishing for awkward silence and quiet chews, but apparently movie theatres excite him? He starts blowing in my ear... ew, trying to feed me chocolates, kissing me on my hands and cheeks, telling me how gorgeous he thinks I am and all of this lovely stuff. After the longest movie ever he drives me back to my parents. On the way back he tells me how interested he is in me and he will call me when I'm 18, I quickly responded with a don't bother :) Awkward

Bad Eggs

As "THE BIG DAY" nears, (55 days!) I find myself reflecting more then usual on my cRaZY past. Its funny how they say nothing really changes when you get married, but I look at it as a time to start fresh. Start that next chapter in life and forget all of the silly worries you had in that previous chapter. If you folks don't mind, my blog posts for the next while are going to be reminiscent of the past, so very random. So I am going to be flipping through those pages and preparing to close those chapters and move on to the next!! Well most of the Chapters are closed but I thought it would be fun to put them in writing.

So let's start with, I am so so so happy that I got the date the asshole phase out of my system while I was young and not be messing around with those types later in life. I would say living in Hawaii helped me get that out of my system. I was given the chance to date 3 "bad eggs" :p. Tell me, why is it that some us women love to date the bad asses. I suppose the we love games and theirs no better game to be played then "try to tame the bad guy". These guys weren't mean or abusive they just played the game well and drove me crazy!!! Attention all bad asses, you will finish last! Smart women will never settle for one of you, it's only just a game. So grow out of it.

I creepily you tubed my friends from the past and found some clips of them haha it felt really strange!

Kauai
This fine young lad was my families bell boy in Kauai. He asked me to go for ice cream after my family and I got back for dinner and I excitedly said yes. I learned he was going to be moving to Oahu in the next couple of weeks, close to where I was living. He wouldn't tell me where, which I thought was weird but didn't think much else of it. We talked on the phone every night until he moved to Oahu. He would always get me to meet him in the school parking lot and we would go for walks from their (which was strange). I thought he just didn't want me to meet his friends yet... fine. Turns out he lived in the Volcom house with all of my fave surfers, he too was a professional surfer but didn't want me to know. CUTE! I could tell that he liked me but something was off. I guess he also liked a lot of other girls as I would hear stuff from his friends. This made me like him more.. ughhhh so dumb. We later ended things because after him ditching me 5 times I found out one night we had plans he had other plans... A maxim party at the house. Soooo that was the end of that.

Maui
We met when I was on vacation with my gf Katie. He walked past us the first day we got their and it was instant chemistry. I told her we needed to see him again. He ended up at the same restaurant that night and he came up and talked to us. We started seeing eachother. He came to Oahu to visit me, I went to Maui to visit him. He thought I liked one if his friends so he started ignoring me, which drove me nuts and making me like him more. After him being so hot and cold and even one night kicking me out of his place. I had to move on.

Oahu
I met him at a party. I loved how the surfer/skateboarder guys wore those knee high socks. Totally dorky for anyone else but they could pull it off like no other. He would say the sweetest things to me EVER, but then I would hear that he would tell his friends I meant nothing to him and blah blah blah. He was also so rude towards my friends and even his friends but so wonderful to me. Uhhmm writing this down makes me embarrassed ha! We totally just played each other and it was really fun. I do know that he has a soft spot inside him and he puts on such an act. I ended up moving back to Manitoba without saying goodbye and haven't heard from him since. Hope your well!

I did get to hang out with so many amazing people in Hawaii. I cherish all of the memories we made. I will erase the guys above but never ever forget all of my Hawaiian Ohana xoxoxoxoxox

If Brian sees this he will be mad I didn't mention him!!!
Brian was the very first guy I dated in Hawaii and the sweetest! He moved back to Connecticut and I stayedin Hawaii. The long distance thing wasn't working for us so we called it off. We still remain friends to this day :) xoxo

World's BEST

Why don't you go and and have a little peek at who made number three on the World's BEST Islands by Travel and Leisure!

So proud that J and I have been given the opportunity to live in such a gorgeous place. So I guess by making it to number 3 in the whole wide world, we are obviously number one in North America. Totally bragging but yes, we beat out Vancouver Island... Boom. I do love Vancouver, Denby, Hornby, & Salt Spring Islands though. I love the huge trees and the people (not that they are huge). My most favorite places on earth happen to be all Islands...
